“A wise and free people may reasonably think…”. Therein lies the current challenge: in the age of audio, visual and digital technology, are enough citizens able to think, understand, and form reasonable and logical judgments about matters in the public interest?
As soon as we got movable print, the chance to exploit on large scale has gotten easier. We’ll always have people fall for the alien invasion in New Jersey (both Orton Wells and drone created) or various other scams. I almost included a misinformation project but that’s been so politicized by grifters who benefit from an ignorant public. Forcing more transparency will help but not solve everything.
Balls and strikes. Well done.
